When you want to make a zombie game where the zombies never seem to stop, it's a good idea to use the best zombie movie ever made, Dawn of the Dead, for inspiration. That's just what Capcom is doing with Dead Rising on the Xbox 360.

In Dead Rising you are a reporter who must get pictures of the zombie outbreak for the world to see. You have a partner who is going to go down as one of the most annoying side characters ever, and he has you take pictures of him doing various things like fighting a zombie, or narrowly escaping their grasp. You are awarded points for the pictures that you take, but what they are good for wasn't clear in the demo.

The great thing is that you are able to use just about anything you find as a weapon. Bowling balls, golf clubs, brooms, benches, purses... just about anything. Some weapons also have unique attacks. For instance, the bowling ball enables you to actually bowl it through zombies, while the golf club lets you hit golf balls at them.

The game seems to be about humor in a dark time (much like that pie fight in the original Dawn of the Dead); you are able to put on various different clothes and accessories that you find in the stores around the mall (one store is a cosplay shop where you can put on a Servbot head from the Mega Man Legends games). Also, for the fans that would get it, one of the eateries in the mall is called "Jill's Sandwich."

Along with games like Rainbow Six: Las Vegas, Splinter Cell: Double Agent, and this one, the Xbox 360's lineup is shaping up rather nicely, especially for the Christmas season this year.
