E3 Impression - Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney (DS)

The E3 demo for Phoenix Wright is short but sweet and gets you acquainted with all you need to know about the title; it's a bit on the simple side but more than makes up for it with it's plot, cast, and personality.
You start the title out defending your best friend, who is on trial for the murder of his girlfriend. Thanks to a few cutscenes prior to the actual trial, you (the player) will have a better idea of what's actually going on than those involved. Gameplay is fairly straight forward; witnesses testify and you present available evidence that contradicts their story. For instance, the witness you're examining in the demo claims that he saw the body of the victim at a time when the coroner's report says she was still alive. Afterwards, he claims he misrepresented the time due to a recorded news broadcast playing at the time, but another report tells you that the power was out and obviously the television couldn't have been on. The demo ends with Wright saying he'll have to look into the case further--in the retail version that is.
As I said, short, sweet, and full of personality. Probably not for everyone, but fans of visual novel style games will more than likely want to check it out, plus anyone looking for something a bit different. Which if you're already a DS owner, you probably are.
