    As the site's resident Xbot, I have taken it upon myself to organize and coordinate weekly Xbox gaming sessions for GAF members.

    How does it work?

    Each Wednesday night at 7 p.m. PDT/10 p.m. EDT, I (or in the case that I do not own the game, someone who volunteers) will set up and run a session in the particular game for the week. Each week will feature a new Xbox 360 or XBLA game for us to play. If you're interested in taking part, just post in the thread that you want to play and be available at the correct time. If you need Gamertag information, or would like to post your own (or would like yours taken off the list), visit this thread.

    Suggestions for following weeks are always welcome, so if you'd like to play a certain game, just give me the business and I'll see what I can do about making it happen. That's all there is to it! Let us all become closer friends by having fun together and filling GAF with fuzzy bunnies and other cute things.

    Carcassonne is great. It's very easy to pick up and play and yet still has a good deal of strategy involved. Xbox Live worked like a charm too. Don't be surprised to see it carry away a good review score when we review it.

    So.. Catan or Carcassonne? Are they fairly comparable?

    In the sense that both are German-designed tile-based board games centered around particular resources to score points, yes. But Carcassonne has a bigger random element to it, and much more subtle strategy moves you can make that affect the entire game (for example, a lot of stuff in Carcassonne is scored at the end of the game, so even if you're winning handily up until the last turn, your opponents can make some pretty spectacular comebacks through the correct piece placement). Catan is more about your negotiating savvy and planning out moves far in advance (kind of like chess).

    I enjoy both, but I like Carcassonne's quicker pace and Sierra's stable netcode. The netcode for Catan is...well....shit.

    This week's game is: Table Tennis! I don't actually own it, but much-love does, so if you wanna get some matches in, get in touch with him.

    Next week will be...well, it features an iconic video game character that has been on many systems and in many games.

    I'm having some "issues" with my Xbox 360, so I wont be playing this week, or the next, or even the next. Hopefully the week after all that should be open.

    Think of it this way: it'll give you time to practice.

    As for me, sorry, I don't own table tennis, and have been dealing with a migraine since yesterday evening, anyhow. :( I'll add you at some point before long, UE, and try to get in a game with ya. Probably not tonight though. Still feeling like death warmed over.

    Bomberman Live this week for anyone who bought it (and if you didn't, you should; it's one of the best XBLA games yet). My wizard bomber welcomes anyone who wants a challenge (and by challenge I mean will try not to kill himself with a stupid and misplaced bomb before you kill yourself).

    HOWEVER, as you may know from the front page, Puzzle Fighter HD comes out next week for botht he XBLA and PSN. We shall play. And it shall be merry.

    i can only get on Live when i go to a gaming center or a friend's house with active WiFi, no Live here at home unfortuneatly
    but i love playing Halo 3, Puzzle Fighter, Puzzle Quest, and tons more online. Even Aegis Wing and Yaris, plus I still play SF2HF and UMK3 sporadically
    hope to get both Catan and Carcasonne at some point

    Don't bother. The game is such a disappointment. All you do is run around. And kill things. I expect more from FPS's! Just wanted you all to know that I'm so unique because I don't necessarily agree that Halo3 is as good as everybody else thinks.

    Likewise. I'm online fairly frequently lately. Would be cool to get a GAF band going. I call drums! :D

    FYI, I can't play after 10 or so EST each night due to other people in the house sleeping. So, I'm usually on late afternoon / evening.
