    1. No double-posting. If after you've posted you realize you have more to say, edit your comment and say it. Please don't disregard this rule as I will edit for you and you will be warned.

    2. No porn or risque pictures. If you want to link to that sort of material you must state that it is Not Safe For Work (NSFW). As a general practice if you're linking off of the forum to another site please tell what you are linking to.

    3. These forums may not be used in any way to trade ROMs. No content (direct links) should be posted on these forums that consist of any illegally ripped content from any games. Music, sprites, etc.

    4. Stay on topic. You can always make a new thread if you find a particular side conversation appealing. Just try to bring the conversation around to the initial topic after a few off topic posts.

    5. Get along with one another, don't make any remarks that can be considered slanderous or defamatory to anyone. Don't turn a debate into a fight.

Let's keep having fun and enjoying games (and anime)!

There goes my l33t SNES hax0r megapost plans. :(

    Defamatory. Excellent choice of words.
  2.
Far be it in my place to make suggestions, but would it be possible to make a rule 6: 'No dating Madonna'?

I know it seems like it should be common sense but, after the last time, I just think it would be smart to play it as safe as possible.

Just so there is no confusion, no content should be posted on these forums that consist of any illegally ripped content from any games. Music, sprites, etc.

So, no mention of them at all? or just no direct links?

I don't anticipate this being a problem for me, as I don't really rip any content, but I'm just curious.

I'm a little sad that I won't be able to share music; it's kinda interesting to be able to hear what other people are listening to.

Sometimes you can get around it by providing YouTube links to music videos or whatever.

Just don't do it in the open forums. It's not THAT sad.

Hence the words in bold, no?

    Thanks for the clarification.

GAF is not a file sharing pirates den. Feel free to share things it is legal for you to share, but don't even think of using our servers to break the law. If you even ask for a PM, which are stored on our servers, you will be banned. If you are ever responsible for us receiving a takedown notice, you may be banned for life.

FYI: YouTube links are fine. It's not our responsibility to police YouTube and many publishers have arrangements with Google to post complete music videos, anime episodes, etc. so it's no longer possible to tell which are legal and which aren't.

Not to split hairs but shouldn't that be, "GAF is not a file sharing pirate's cove"? hehe

I know the file sharing thing sucks, but if it makes anyone feel better, this isn't like some new strict rule that Rich is creating. This rule existed back on the old forums as well. And even then, it's only to make sure we can stick around and keep delivering awesome news and content. :o)

    Question:

Does it count as a double post if I post about two completely different things within the same topic? For example, I commented on the whole anime thing in the "what pisses you off" thread, but I also wanted to say a new thing that pisses me off. Would it be a double post if I posted the new thing as a different comment? Also, what if I did it tomorrow? How much time needs to pass in order for consecutive posts to not be considered double posts?

If you posted one right after the other it's a double post. If you are reviving a thread and it's been 3+ days since it was active then it's okay.

Mainly, the double post rule is to keep you from posting, then deciding you have more to add to the same topic and then making another post instead of editing your original post.

In the pisses you off thread, all you have to do is say what you want about anime and then say "blah whatever pisses me off". Thanks for asking though.
  6.
    Suggestion:

There needs to be a way to delete posts, just in case you catch yourself accidentally double-posting. I know mods have the ability to delete posts, but as far as I know, I don't have any ability to delete my own posts.

Yeah, I second that. I mean it's good to be careful when you want to contribute to threads but we need to delete some threads!
  7.
Wait, do you mean you want to actually be able to delete threads, or did you mean comments? Deleting threads wouldn't really work out, because that's pretty much a mod responsibility on all forums, so I figure you meant to say comments, you just had the word "thread" on your mind.

Thanks for the suggestion. But there will be no deleting, sorry. Deleting opens up the possibility for people to undo the fact they ever posted in a thread, which could lead to confusion, more confusion than if they edited it and we still have record that something was said by a particular person. For instance, if you all went in and deleted your posts in this thread, mine would make no sense.
