For those who don't know,
Mist Walker is an independent game development company founded around July of last year by the man behind the
Final Fantasy games, Hironobu Sakaguchi. Sakaguchi left
Final Fantasy behind in order to start up Mist Walker.
The latest issue of Japanese gaming magazine Famitsu reveals Mist Walker's first game. Mist Walker is apparently working on a Simulation RPG for the
Nintendo DS. Sakaguchi will be handling the duties of producer, scenario, and game design. Hideo Manaba, who also previously worked on
FF games, is helping with the art direction.
Sakaguchi wants to incorporate the use of the touch screen somehow, but it's not known how exactly he wants to do that. He also hinted that the player's party will consists of 4 or 5 characters.
As you may recall, Sakaguchi had said, "I'll incorporate the good points from past games, but I'm working to my limit in hopes that these games will bring tears to the eyes of their players, in the ways that only novels and movies could," when talking about
the two RPGs Mist Walker is developing. He's working hard to make these two games the best games he's made, so there's a lot for his fans to get excited about.
Well, now we know what one of the two RPGs is (sort of). Hopefully we'll find out about Mist Walker's other project soon. As soon as we hear more info, we'll be sure to let you know.

I dunno, I guess defending your farm against an evil Empire would be pretty sweet... Think about it.

I'm pretty sure Simulation Rpgs and Strategy Rpgs are the same thing. Phantom Brave was referred to as a simulation rpg by the Japanese press and it's clearly a strategy rpg.
