GameSpot is reporting that Konami will release
Bomberman for the Nintendo DS in Japan on May 26. It will retail for 5,040 yen (about $48).
The big news is that
Bomberman DS will have Wi-Fi functionality and game-sharing capabilities. Up to eight players can play together with just one cartridge. There are three versus modes: normal mode, where the objective is to beat opponents by bombing them; crown mode, where the first person to pick up the crown wins; and panel mode, where gamers bomb tiles in the floor to flip them to match their team's color.
The single player mode is comprised of 10 areas that together contain 100 stages. Each of the areas is ended with a boss battle. Items earned during gameplay can be controlled by using the touch screen.
We here in the US get to wait until Q3 2005 for this game, yet another case of not getting DS games soon enough.

Wow, now there are like... 3 games that use the single cart for multiplayer feature? I wish more games would use this feature...

If you hate waiting (who doesnt) just import it. Bomberman isnt gonna be a text heavy game so it should easy enough to figure out what does what.
A May release in japan is just over the hill so I don't see how you can call that late. I'd expect a translation of it shouldnt take that long if you wanna hang on for the u.s version. In the mean time you have Meteos,Puyo Puyo etc to keep you company, plus other GBA games too.
I'm looking forward to this one, it's gonna be a huge blast.

Konami is publishing in Japan, not here.

Iam almost positive that Konami has nothing to do with this game. It is being developed by Hudson Soft and published by Ubisoft.

so is Konami trying to step up their publishing of other companies titles, or what?

Wow, I love how most DS games have full featured multiplayer with only one game needed.

Yeah, DS has quite a few potentially great multiplayer games, but Idon't like having to wait so long for so many games. Seems like too long a wait for things like Polarium to come out here.

This has the potential to be a great multiplayer game. Too bad it won't be out here for awhile.
