Here are the first four screens of
Perfect Dark Zero, one of the Xbox 360's launch titles. These are likely taken from an early build of the game.
Developed by
Rare, this anticipated FPS was the main game featured on the MTV Xbox 360 unveiling earlier tonight. On the show, it was revealed that
PD0 will feature Xbox Live multiplayer deathmatches supporting 50+ players.

What can I say? The game looks like crap. Knowing Rare though, I'd be surprised if they don't "make it pretty" before the thing is released.
Besides, I loved PD on the N64. I still consider it to be the best FPS ever.

Microsoft is more focused on Multiplayer games now, they proof that althou halo is not a grate single player game , it did a good job with the multiplayerit , being this the feature which help to sell the game (beside the HYPE).
It will be interesting what will hapen with 50 people strafing themselves at the same time.

Why are all those guys in armor made to look similar to Master Chief? Come to think of it Master Cheif kind of looks like the same standard guys in armor from every FPS since Doom 1. In fact all of these screens look very generic. Rare used to be quite graphically competent, but I don't see anything very impressive here. Now I'm starting to see why Nintendo isn't so focused on graphics for this upcoming generation of systems.

This game is gonna have to have some major gameplay innovations to get my gaming dollar. These sub-par grapics alone aren't going to cut it. I bet no one is blaming Nintendo now for getting rid of Rareware lol.

Yeah I'm pretty much in the same boat as everyone else. This game really has to be spectacular to get my money. I mean lets be honest with outselves; Golden Eye was fantastic, then most of the team left for the Time Splitters team. Perfect Dark came out and really it wasn't all that great. The most of the rest of the team left to join the Time Splitters team. And now, serveral years later, this sequel needs to compete with games like Halo 2, Half-Life 2, Doom 3, and whatever else comes out before it's release. I just don't see it doing that well.
And as for duque501's comments on Eternal Darkness having low-grade gfx... are you friggin nuts!?

May be , this graphics are the result of a work originaly done for X-BOX 1 that was rebuild for XBOX 2,
that happened with Eternal Darknes, it was initially for N-64, and then it was reproduce for Game Cube, and thats whay the graphics have low grade

Looks good. But not "X-Box 360" good. Conker Live and Reloaded looks better than this.
And if the original Team didn't do this game, then I hope the current team paid REEEAAAL close attention.

I'd like to see a Timesplitters 4 on the next gen systems...do you think it could happen? (Is 3 selling well?)

Hmmm...
If you told me this was for the original XBox, I wouldn't have known the difference.
Also, not to try and drown anyone's hopes or things like that: Remember guys. The original team that made Perfect Dark is no longer with Rare. If you want that classic feel of Perfect Dark and GoldenEye, go get Time Spliters, as that's where that team went.
Don't expect this glorious classic that you know and love just because it shares the name...

If these graphics are the final thing, there are only two reasons I can think that they aren't as good as other next-gen graphics that we are seeing:
A) It wasn't running at maximum power (or whatever you want to call it)
B)There is so much going on in the gameplay that haven't it any sharper would hinder framerate...(ie: Kinda why Halo was 30 fps I guess..) I can't imagine a 50 player deathmatch running very smoothly with high resolution graphics.
C) Microsoft are trying to down-hype the 360 pre E3 by showing low res screens and then at E3 show really hi res/better screens?
They are just a few ideas that come to mind. Of course I could be 100% wrong and this could be it.
Personally, I don't think it looks too bad at all (Not as good as DoA4...but nevertheless)

Wow... some of the maps look like it was built with BSP from iD's games such as Quake. Screenshot 4 (the outside map) looks like a Quake 2 map.

im hopin this is from an early build, if these are screens from the final game there is NO reason it couldnt have been launched on the Xbox. Hell PS2 graphics look better than this.

LOL these screens must be what prompted big N to let Rare go. :-P
Hopefully the finished product is better.

i agree, this game isn't very visually impressize. but considering how much i loved the original perfect dark, i am eagerly awaiting this one. i'm sure it will be spruced up a bit before its released and i doubt it will be disappointing.

Not to be a troll or anything, but does no one else look and this and feel completely let down? I think it looks like a sub-par Xbox 1 title. And seeing the quick clips in motion on the show today made it look like a crappy PC game that could have been made 3 years ago. I mean come on, did you see that running animation?! Counterstrike anyone? Is this the masterpiece that Rare has been working on for years? I know its an early build, but look at the last shot and tell me Halo 1 doesnt look 10 times better. Microsoft got scammed on the Rare purchase if you ask me.

You'll see video simply because it'll be at E3... Does anyone doubt that after the treatment it got tonight? And it certainly looks better in motion. I'm not buying it (not a FPS fan really), but it'll be something to play over the friends houses when it releases.

Well, even though the graphics aren't knock-you-down awesome from these screens, the game will probably walk out of retailers doors and will get a sequel.
At least then we might get a graphically superior (and gameplay, of course) PD that everyone seems to want.
But I think we need to see a lot more screens and videos (if possible) before we dong our gabble.

We probably won't see any video footage. Something I noticed when I was watching the unvailing was the fact that there seemed to be frame-skipping during the game.
My guess is that the game is playable right now, but not yet fully optimized to run on the hardware. As such we probably won't see any video until it's closer to completion.

The game looks pretty. But, it really doesn't make me go "wow". ::Shrugs.:: I'd like to see some video footage.
