I hope they add some bonus interviews with the creators:

Creator: "well, then we came up with this sh*ty idea of making this show about some character with a red hat o sumthing, we got the liscense soo damn easy. At that moment Nintendo would give permisson to a drunken old man for christ sake!"

Also on the DVD, some interviews with the actors

Very old Mario actor: "i was so gay those days, you know what is like that evey move you make has a stupid pitch sound".

to zeo for saying that people who think that "this show sucked" are idiots because we're not kids anymore, I thought the SMBSS sucked when I was 10, the thing's not been on tv in over a decade! it's not like we saw it on tv last week and thought, "oh, this is lame."

put some thought into your post before you go attacking people's opinions.

A nice little buy to sit next to my Ulysses 31 boxset. Nice to see some old game anime getting to DVD.

The Mario series wasn't all that but I thought the Zelda series was okay. I wonder if both these sets will be just english dubs only.

Has to be said the price is damn good for each and it's more money to Nintendo. I just hope Nintendo invest it in making some more anime series based off of their games. Fire Emblem and F Zero have been done. I'd love to see a Pilotwings, 1080 or Waverace anime series. Or perhaps Star Fox would be better suited to expand on its story universe.

I will most likely stick to better game based anime series like Street Fighter or Darkstalkers than buy these though.

I would think releasing Captain N would be a lot harder, since you'd probably have to get permission and deal with royalties and all for all the various companies that have characters in it...

I'm more than aware that Sony does more than make Playstaion. However, you cannot deny that by being a gamer, you usually think of the Playstation when someone says Sony, hence the irony.

I don't think Sony Music is a part of SCEA at all. It's easy to forget that Sony does a hell of a lot more than the Playstation.

Two things:

1) Those saying the Mario show sucked are all idiots. Kids loved it. They're not made for people our age. Same with Sonic (both of them), Mega Man, whatever. They're good KID shows and simply amusing for older fans.

2) "Why the hell is Nintendo letting Sony distribute these?" Uh, what? Are you kidding?

Correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't the Zelda series already get a DVD release a while back?

i just hope beyond hope they keep the liveaction bits in. if it's cartoon only then i'm afraid i won't be able to invest in these.

There were only like 13 Zeldas. I can't imagine that being 3 discs, or costing the same as the Mario one unless there are serious extras.

Also, you can always find DVDs for way below MSRP if you look a bit. www.bargainflix.com

what I meant by on the cheap was $20 or less. I would say that neither series was high quality, Super Mario Bros 3 was way better, (the SMSS involved Bowser with all the SMB2 baddies) but for a less painful price, I would submit.

I do completely agree on the Super Mario World cartoon though; it sucked.

Why the hell did Nintendo let Sony Music get publishing rights for this?

Fillerbunny9: "I'll buy these when I can find them on the cheap"

When they are cheap? If I'm not mistaken Super Mario Super Show is 52 episodes, and if that DVD set is the whole series (unlikely) then $30 is more than a bargain. Even if it's just 26 episodes $30 is still a good deal.

And for the record (in my opinion) Super Mario World sucked, thus the reason it was only 12 episodes. but yeah, I'd still buy it. The opening song is addictive enough.

Hm... I'll pass on these. I'm more interested in DVD releases of Captain N: The Game Master, and the Super Mario Bros. 3 and Super Mario World cartoons. Anyone remember SMW?

Super Mario, Super Mario, Super Mario... World.
In Super Mario World, it's a blast from the past.
In Super Mario world, you've got to move fast.
Mario and Luigi are doing what they can.
Yoshi and the princess are giving them a hand~

... oh man.
I can't believe I remember that. XD

I'll buy these when I can find them on the cheap. now if they gave us Captain N: The Game Master, I'd be there when it released. that was great, at least until they added Gameboy who just killed it.
