News - Updated - Halo character in Dead or Alive 4 revealed, images inside

Awhile back,
Bungie confirmed that a character from the
Halo universe would be appearing in
Team Ninja's
Dead or Alive 4 for Xbox 360. There was much speculation as to who the character would be, with most people pegging Cortana as the most likely character (for obvious reasons).
Well, the character has been revealed, and it's not Cortana. It IS a female, though - a female Spartan. Spartan-458, to be precise. We can't post images right now, as this was revealed in a US mag, but for those wondering, she looks pretty much exactly like Master Chief.
Also revealed in the magazine is the existence of a Halo-themed stage set in space. Spartan-458 and Ryu are shown fighting in a stage that looks like it was pulled right out of the first level of
Halo 2, with what appears to be a planet/Halo (it's hard to tell) visible through the windows in the background.

If you look at all the other serial numbers for the other Spartans none of them except the Chief and his 2nd are above 100. So I figure that 458 is either Cassandra (the chick that wrote a letter to the Chief in the LE booklet, and maybe higher rank than him), or one of the newer batch of Spartans that began training after the Chief's group but hasn't been put into open combat yet.

My speculation on who this new Spartan is, maybe a new character from a new installment? Sounds pretty gnarly to me, I'd like to see more!

Actually, according to this page (http://halosm.bungie.org/story/spartanroster.html), it doesn't appear she's from the novels. Unless she's not Linda or Kelly, but rather some other unnamed female...

Yeah, as the one guy said, she's from the novels. So just take it down a notch, she's a legitamate addition... for being a Halo Character anyway. But hey, Spawn in Soul Calibur 2 was no stranger. (Yeah, he did fit the general look and stuff, but come on, he did feel out of place)

You know what? I could go on about how the guy doesn't fit in the game, but in the end I don't think it really matters. Maybe to a fan of either game it's just something fun, like a secret guy to have fun with.
If he's a regular in the roster and somebody that you'll likely fight on your way up the ladder, then it would be kind of awkward. But I'm not a fan of either game, so my tailfeathers aren't in a ruffle.

That's so retarded... technically, it's not a Halo character since 458 has not been in a Halo game, it's an original character.
I would've much rather preferred Cortana- I was sure it would be her after seeing that silhouette banner at Bungie's site. Maybe Bungie had no say in it..?

It's DOA, if they can make an underage girl bounce, than a suit isn't too hard. Besides they can make an alternate outfit without the chest plate.

act1985: you're forgetting the other explaination for why this isn't Master Chief even though it clearly could be; it's DoA, you gotta ramp up the boob factor, even if said boobs are not visible and obscured by an androgynous suit of armour! Hawt!
Besides, look at the hawtness factor of guest characters in Soul Calibur II, Heihachi, Link, Spawn, and Necrid, not a boob between the four of them, and see what it did for SC? No one liked THAT game XD

I haven't seen played HALO 2 in a while, so if I am making a serious mistake, please excuse me but...
Is it just me or does Spartan-458 look EXACTLY like Master Chief, especially when you consider it's the SAME SUIT. Are there any different characteristics besides the voice between the Chief and 458.
If there's not a difference, than either the VA refused the job (Master Chief is just a voice and a suit that can do HALO jumps) or Bungie doesn't trust (respect) Itagaki to use a main character.

It sucks that the Spartans serial number (code or whatever) is so simple.

If they had decided to go with Cortland, than she could be a VR training bouncy solid hologram made by DOATECH to confuse the sanity of its opponents (and the player) by having to explain something even more messed up than the rest of the storyline.

Yeah, it will be interesting to see if and how Bungie decides to use this character in the future. Also, even though this may seem like a silly inclusion to some, this will seriously help DOA 4's sales, just as Link's inclusion in the GC version of Soul Calibur II helped make that the best-selling version in the US.
