News - First "Tales of" DS scan

The first images of
Namco's upcoming
Tales of game for DS have emerged. Despite being rather blurry, the scan reveals the first character, as well as the name of the character designer - Inomata Mutsumi.
This DS
Tales of title is currently scheduled for a 2006 release in Japan.

How about a Tales of Symphonia port for the DS, they just had to reduce the frame rate to 30fps.
eh, seriously though, i'd like to see some gamecube equivalent graphics on the DS. Afterall, it does run at a reduced resolution.

catz: Not all Tales games have a Symphonia battle system. Symphonia utilizes a 3D battle system, and Rebirth uses a 3 row system reminscent of Guardian Heroes. Every other Tales battle system is the normal 2D stuff seen since ToP.

Tales on my DS? Can't wait to see how Namco uses the touch screen for it...

All Tales' game have Symphonia-like battle system, it's what differentiate them with their competition

They could pull some nice 2D backgrounds with 3D sprites and 3D battle maps on the DS with a nice cell shading effect, so if it isn't rushed than we will get a good game, if not, at least give me a Symphonia-like battle system.

Define "GBA graphics." If you mean an art style similar to that of Tales of Phantasia for the GBA, that depends. If you mean graphical quality of the GBA... I seriously doubt it. I'd expect something far more similar to Symphonia (Namco seems to enjoy keeping their Tales storylines on separate systems - Symphonia and Phantasia are in their own world from Eternia, Destiny, Legendia, et cetera).
Symphonia battle style? Online? I'd hit it. We don't know whether or not this is Wi-Fi Enabled or not.

In any case, while Tales games are oversaturating the market, one for DS is surely welcome. I always wanted to play a Tales game that doesn't suck on the go. ToP is nice, but let's admit it, it's eleven years old, way too archiac by now.
