Yeah beavis, treasure is developing Bleach DS. Should be awesome.

Treasure is designing Bleach, not Sega. A publisher publisher a game, a developer develops a game. Sometimes one company does both, sometimes not. If my sources are wrong and Sega is developing Bleach for the DS, I apologize for being condescending.

Yup, ive got a real good feeling about Children of Mana. Secret of Mana 4 also looks good being the first true 3D mana game. Children of Mana will be coming to Japan around February so well find out soon enough.

Something tells me Children of Mana will have the same charm and greatness as Secret of Mana did. It looks good

Well, Baten Kaitos 2 can't go wrong, can it? And no matter how much we hate it, Pokemon will still be a best-seller when it releases.

Ouch on the scores, sure they might be "okay" or "decent" but they're not "stellar" like many had hoped.

fady :) 1.11.2006 at 12:07:49 PM
Yeah..the Lost Magic 6/7/8/9 score is defenitely odd. There is a 9 and an 8 in there. Yeah, as u said azu, its worth a try.

I expected Iron Feather to do better as well...is it just me or Konami just cant get their anime/cartoon games right - Ninta Turtles, Iron Feather, Shaman King, Rave Master...

azu 1.11.2006 at 10:30:23 AM
30 is not weak. With Lost Magic, it divides opinions. One has given it a 9, and it has one 6. You could love it or you could think it's a mediocre game that wasn't worth a purchase. At least it's worht the try

I actually thought Iron Feather woule be better than Lost Magic.

And how does it matter which console/handheld the game is for? It's bad reviewing, if a DS game gets two or three extra points.

fady :) 1.11.2006 at 10:03:43 AM
Yes, but when u get these scores for japan's beloved genre (RPG) for one of japan's most favored systems (DS)...29 and 30 are weeeeaaak.

I looooove 2D games as much as 3D, especially the beautfiul Castlevania games...but these sprites look normal, not good enough at all IMO..

ethelred 1.11.2006 at 05:14:36 AM
"and i told u i had a bad feeling bout Iron Feather and Lost Magic"

30's not a bad score at all, actually, and 29 is decent. It's actually more than I expected for either of these two games, and I'm actually more interested in them now.

"tho id be lying to u if i said it looked good at ALL."

It looks great if you can appreciate sprites and 2D.

Hey people...heres some new nintendo reviews from Famitsu:

Resident Evil: Deadly Silence 8/8/8/8 32/40
Lost Magic 9/8/7/6 30/40
Iron Feather 7/8/7/7 29/40
Metroid Prime Pinball 8/8/8/9 33/40
Kero Kero 7 7/6/7/8 28/40
Super Mario Strikers 6/7/7/7 27/40

I was hoping for more for RE:DS....and i told u i had a bad feeling bout Iron Feather and Lost Magic. Too bad for Mario Strikers, and good stuff for Metroid Prime Pinball.

There really is lots of bashing of XSI&II, and remarks about how pointless it is. As for me, it's one of my most anticipated DS titles (and therefore one of my most anticipated titles, period).

I think the game looks fantastic, primarily because I love the style completely: anime cutscenes, with nice looking 2D sprites with great looking backgrounds. I'm delighted that the GBA, and now the DS, are keeping this style of game alive and well. The two Xenosaga games had nice stories, but some flawed gameplay, and I think this game has a good chance of resolving those gameplay flaws while combining the story into a single narrative (as it was intended to be in the first place), while presenting an appealing graphical style more closely resembling Xenogears.

No complaints from me. Just lots of anticipation.

Children of Mana looks as great as usual, and Contact -- an Earthboundish RPG from the maker of Killer 7 -- should turn out exceptionally cool.

Anyone know if the Nobunaga DS game is coming to the states? I can care less what reviews it gets, im a big fan of the series.

The Bleach game is a 4 player fighting game that relates closest to Guardian Heroes for the Saturn.

The first Xenosaga was fantastic. The second seemed like nothing more than leftovers of a great game. The DS version seems like a throwback to the original Xenogears that the series really needed, and I can't wait.

Lots of bashes on XSI-II, but I look forward to it. Now with simpler graphics, I expect the gameplay to be speedier, and the story is still very interesting IMO. Lots of extras that aren't just minigames help as well.

Haha, I love the Loli-tastic picture of Momo in that Xenosaga game (though I think the game itself will be terrible).

I wonder what's up with that Bleach game. Is it going to be a mixture of text-adventure (ala Phoenix Wright) and 2D fighter?

Oh, and that Romance of the Three Kingdoms-style game looks awesome. Too bad it won't ever be ported Stateside...

"What's the name of that Pokemon game?"

Pokémon Ranger. The game won't be about Pokémon "Trainers" but "Rangers" instead (at least in this one). Rangers and Pokés will use their "abilities" to fight weather problems, or something like that... Also, the game is linked to the new movie (in japan) where Rangers will appear.

"I am confused by that too. Anyone know if the US network would allow a Japanese game to be played online? I really don't know about such things."

Well, i think there should be no problem. As you can see japanese pages from any other part of the world, i think you can play ds games no matter where you are. But i think an issue would be some kind of lag...

The DS library is becoming more and more interesting, with more quality titles (some more than others) that aren't from Nintendo itself. I'd like to see this with Rev too!

"Pied Piper being remade on the DS, and having it released here, would be excellent. But since it's not likely, I guess we'll have to be content with the (completed) fan translation."

And an excellent read it is. Strangely enough, I probably enjoyed reading that more than playing Episode I. I'm still interested in Xenosaga I/II to see if the abriged version means a healthy amount of that narrative fat gets removed... I don't care whether or not the opinion is appreciated, but I just didn't enjoy those games as much as I thought I would.

And concerning BKDS:

That looks strangely similar in quality to the GC title... My question is, and I honestly want to know this meaning I am not being flippant, does the DS game look THAT good, or did the GC game look THAT poor?

Some of the RPG titles on there look very...bland. Lots of solid looking things in it, though - and I was wondering why they were bothering with a XSI-II remake as well..oh well, I'll most likely play it on the DS ^^

Pokemon Ranger looks fun, but...that was a lot of images of hay.

balbanesbeoulve: I'm not 100% sure, but I actually can't get Ashton to go to gaming-age forums for things to cover, so I'm doubtful that he got them there. He typically frequents the Japanese gaming sites and gets stuff there. They may have gotten them from gaming-age forums, dunno.

I still don't see why the gap between Episodes II and III couldn't be bridged the same way they did between I and II: release a DVD with the relevant cutscenes.

Wow the COntact (Online RPG title) definately looks interesting. The DS line-up is definately interesting!

eggmanimn 1.10.2006 at 03:29:29 PM
XSI II is coming out to bridge a gap between II and III. Mostly just a crash course. If tons of people with DS' buy XSI II, then those people will become interested in III when it comes out. I'll happily buy it if it comes out here as it seems to be adding in parts of story that weren't there before, not to mention it could possibly have the Pied Piper sidestory in it as well.

I really wish people would stop with the XS bashing. Yeah yeah yeah. You don't like it. I do. Shut up.

Also, the other games look good. The Bleach DS game looks great in motion.

I just can't believe how the DS has evolved with one of the weakest launch line-ups to having quite possibly one of the greatest game libraries... absolutely amazing!

I wonder how Namco plans to fit both Xenosagas on one card. It must be a pretty big card (probably at least 2Gb).

All of those games look fantastic... except for BK2. It doesn't look all too different than the first but lets hope they get it right this time.

"A mulitude of scans for games aimed for release on the a variety of Nintendo's systems has appeared on the internet"

What variety? They're all for DS. Not that I'm complaining.

This is why Nintendo keeps saying that the Revolution is going to be everyone's second system--their first is going to be the DS.

Someone remind me why Namco is even bothering with Xenosaga remakes on the DS? It seems pointless.
