The graphics actually look smooth and bright, it's the characters...they are out of proportion. Their heads are too big...pseudo SD just looks weird compared to the sleek characters in previous installments.

The graphics don't look that great, but they're still good. Hopefully, the gameplay will still deliver.

I don't think the graphics are bland at all. In fact, in picture 6, you can clearly see that each of the models contains all of the little points of interest that the drawn versions have. Being fully 3D always seems to annoy some people.

Yeah the graphics are bland, but if the animation is good would be great... wich is something i highly doubt to happen.

If we manage to get this game in the US, I will dress up as Ulala and hit on my fat, Jamaican boss.

"We definitely will not get this game in the US if the only way to activiate your Persona is to shoot yourself in the head..."
--> If anyone is familiar with the series, Galerians, Rion who is the main character injects himself in the neck with a "gun" that gives him abilities, etc. You can say it's the same thing to some extent.
Galerians: Ash was the sequel; it was rated teen while the first one was rated mature. You be the judge.

Haven't we been through this discussion already?

persona is a very boring series persona'lly speaking. i hope this one is good, though!
the graphics kind da look outdated, kind da look like psp graphics. this game seems extremely rough around the edges, then again its not about thee graphics.

They probably didn't have it in Japan due to differing gameplay (eating demons as opposed recruiting them) and setting. Atlus just figured it'd work better in America to tack on the DDS thing to kinda show that they were a part of the same overall series, even if they were in different subsects. Kinda like how they tacked on "Revelations" to both Persona and Last Bible.

I didn't know that about DDS. I guess it seems a little bit odd that they didn't have the MegaTen brand in Japan, considering they use many models (and the same freakin' engine) lifted straight from SMT3.

Of course, we can't also forget that IS featured a scene where students murder their principal. That wouldn't exactly have gone well with most parents, given Columbine was still well in people's minds. The whole Jun being gay thing also probably didn't help, either.
Also, Atlus dropped the whole Revelations thing after releasing Last Bible over here. Even then, only LB and the first Persona used it. All the other games have kept the Megami Tensei title in the US (and, in the DDS games case, had it ADDED).

You're referring to the "Devil Kids" games, which were actually vastly superior to the pokemon titles that they were competing with.
As for why Atlus only released Eternal Punishment... there were a number of reasons for it. The story was a lot more controversial in Innocent Sin, although I don't think neo-nazis and reviving Hitler are anything that someone would bat an eye at today...
Anyway, I think the odds of us getting a unedited Persona 3 are pretty good. Yes, the suicide theme is more than prevalent; it is at the core of the game AND gameplay. However, the markets have matured, and I think a lot of people would appreciate a game with this level of social commentary and depth.
I hope so, anyway.

Bzzt! Wrong, Onizuka-sensei! Persona 1 came out in English as a huge hit, then Atlus collapsed, and HALF of Persona 2 was released for PS1. Atlus' reconstitution came too late for them to translate Persona 2: Innocent Sin, but late enough to translate Persona 2: Eternal Punishment; two games which tell seperate aspects of one storyline, and were meant to be played in order. Sorta like .hack, only each game was a full game in unto itself instead of a blatant attempt to sell one game four times. There were huge petitions on the internet at the time for Innocent Sin to be translated, but that never ended up happening.
Various other Megami Tensei series (or Revelations as it's called here) games came out in English, mostly only a few monster-collecting games for various Game Boy systems.

Persona 2 was a sleeper hit in rpg circles on PSone. One and two were released in the states.
I feel that this is gonna be another good addition to the series. Graphics and art look cool and I'll buy if it comes my way.
And it doesn't look neat (bad word) it loooks very untidy. LOL sorry jekku, just my english sense of humour.

Is this the game where kids need aim guns to their own heads in order to cast a spell?

i'm a sucker for living the lives of random children, especially if it ends in nonsensical violence that will inexplicably save the world.

Looks neat. If it ever comes here, I'll definitely have to try it out.

As cool as the game looks, the idea that you have to go through a regular school day like some dating sim and THEN fight monsters and such sounds kind of stupid/boring.
