Midway's Austin studio recently posted job listings on several websites that hint at a couple of their next-gen projects.
The first project is titled
Area 52. Considering Midway Austin released a FPS called
Area 51 last year; it's likely that this is a sequel. This is confirmed later on, as some of the listings state the project is "the sequel of a best selling first person shooter." The listings also reveal that this is a PS3, Xbox 360, and PC title.
The second project is titled "Criminal." It's listed for PS3 and Xbox 360. Unfortunately, I was unable to determine any other info about this one.
We'll be sure to keep you posted if we find out anything more.

Area 52 being in the works is not "no news" or "speculation." The same goes for reporting that another game called "Criminal" is being made. We may not have details, but it's still news.

Crassly put, alfredojr, but I have to share the sentiment. Why even bother reporting on speculation like this?

I wonder if Criminal is based off the upcoming ongoing by Ed Brubaker.

"When I hear about the game "Area 51" I still always think of the arcade gun game first."
Me too. I also played Midways "Best selling FPS" and I did not like it at all! The sniping was all messed up, it was too clunky, and I only remember 3 different types of enemies, and there lots of them. Got really boring and repetitive. lalalala

Great, another Wii exclusive... as in exclusively NOT on the Wii. How disappointing... unless they're bad games in which case carry on.

Yeah, I remember it fondly, though it was definitely not as good as the House of the Dead games.
I wonder if this Area 52 will see the return of David Duchovny and Marylin Manson for voice work.

I was thinking of the arcade gun game too. The funny thing about that game is that even though it's pretty much agreed that it was garbage, everyone that I ever hear mention it remembers it fondly.

Man, I wish Midway would revive the Rush series or at least take Rush 2 and make it look REALLY good. I haven't played L.A. Rush but I heard it was kinda bad.

When I hear about the game "Area 51" I still always think of the arcade gun game first.
