News - Q Entertainment takes Meteos online... for PC

Posted by Burk Frey at 02:40:16 AM EST on 9.21.2006.

A report from Japanese publication Manichi Web has announced that Q Entertainment, maker of the hit DS game Meteos, plans to take the franchise to the PC. The new game will feature online play for up to 6 players, and will be entitled (wait for it...) Meteos Online.

In a bit of non-Meteos news, the same report states that Q has acquired the rights to Angel Love Online, an MMO out of Taiwan. A demo of the game is available here.

Well, using the mouse to control a cursor, then drag the meteos up and down sounds like a good 'replacement' for a touchpad/stylus combo.

I think a Wii version would be better than a PC version, yes. But as much as I love and support the Wii, there's only one perfect system for Meteos... the DS. Plain and simple.

The way it is designed is perfect for stylus control, and not even the Wiimote can match it in my opinion. Honestly, if Q is going to port it to other systems, I'd rather see a PDA port than a PC port.

I don't see how this game can be done as well or as quickly as on the DS on the PC

if anything I'd like to see a Wii version released on virtual console that's online since I think the Wii controler would allow for quick movements similar to the DS version

the DS is really the prime system for the game though and I'd like to see a DS online interation as well (perhaps with cross connectivity with the Wii edition

"Doesn't that special version of Meteos for DS have online multiplayer?"

I believe they confirmed that it would when the game was announced. Then again, a Disney Edition for a game with already perfect design? No way I'm supporting that, even though an online mode is sadly missing in the original version :/

msz - Just rename the shortcut. Call it "A.N.G.E.L. Online", or just make something up.

Funny, I remember reading something about M:DE having an online mode. Too bad if it isn't.

You mean Meteos: Disney Edition? I haven't seen anything stating that, but they'd be kinda dumb not to.

First Lumines, then this. Ah well, stranger things have happened.

I just took a look at Angel Love Online. At first glance (not to mention its title), it looks way too fruity... but from looking at the gallery's screenshots, it actually looks decent.

I just don't know if I want an icon titled "ANGEL LOVE" on my desktop, which would cause my girlfriend to think I've finally gone over the dark side of PC hentai sims. =P
