We've got some new screens of the carnival course from
Sega's
Sonic Rivals.
Rivals is a racing game rather than a traditional
Sonic platformer, but it will feature similar controls to the usual 2D
Sonic games. Confirmed characters include Sonic, Knuckles, Shadow, and Silver, a new character to the series. Each character will have his own storyline in single-player mode, and each will have unique abilities to use against the other racers. Along the way, they'll be able to collect tradeable cards, which can grant new powers, change appearance, and so on.
Tails and Amy will make appearances, but they have not been confirmed to be playable. Returning as the ultimate bad guy will be Dr. Eggman (or "Dr. Robotnik," if you prefer).
In addition to single-player,
Rivals will feature wireless multiplayer modes.
Sonic Rivals is slated for a November 21 release in North America.

I literally can't wait for a sequel to Sonic Rush. I've played it through completely 3 times now on normal, which is like playing it through 6 times because you need to play through with Blaze and get all the Chaos Emeralds with Sonic to get the extra final boss battle.

Hmm...
If I remember correctly, I played this at E3 and they were supposed to give me some swag for it, but they didn't. :(
Seemed decent at the time, if a little unpolished. Those new screens look awesome.

"scarecrow is the ultimate fanboy. bowdown to you sir, you are extremely elite! Who needs graphics and eye candy! Give me stick figures and atari 2600 pixels!"
Ultimate fanboy? No, he just likes to cry about stupid things. If they stop having beautiful grpahics and just use stivk figures you know you would hate it. Grow up. And why are you bowin down to him... *shakes head*

The visuals look quite impressive. While I certainly am not enamored with the handheld, I do concede that it can put out some very impressive visuals.

"Not everything would be better on a Nintendo system."
It's refreshing to see that sort of commentary.

sonic universe already has tons of people already in it... don't know why they felt the need to add more for every game that comes out.
Just using wikipedia:
Emerl the robot
Espio the chameleon (needs to be in a game!)
Vector the croc
Charmy the bee
Mighty the armadillo (Chaotix yo!)
Nack the weasel
Blaze the Cat (really? one game?)
Tails (duh)
Cream
Amy
Rouge the bat
This is of course without touching any archie comics sonic characters.

They could have done a 2D Sonic, with brilliant, crisp, bright graphics, high speeds and classic Sonic gameplay.
But no, they had to go for some Pandemonium-style pseudo-3D racing game crap.
I don't know why I still care about Sonic games, but I do. One of these days they'll lose me as a customer..

Silver? So many critters in the Sonic Universe. I am still waiting for:
Doink the dog
Fifi the frog
Colleen the etruscan shrew
Raheem the worm
Dotty the praying mantis
Sonic, Tails, Knuckles...that is all we really need!

Having spent 30 hours so far playing GTA on the PSP, I'm really getting to dislike that analog nub.
More RPGs and platformers please, less racing games that are hard to control.

Concidering at this point at time, Sega wants Sonic to be on EVERY platform available, im sure it dosent take a genius to see if you want to see this game on another console, forget about it, im sure due to the strong sales and good reviews of sonic rush, a sequel is in the works.
So for this game, you can either get it on the PSP or not at all......Lets just hope it dosent turn out like Pokemon Dash!

scarecrow: Give it a rest. Honestly. Not everything would be better on a Nintendo system.

Funny this would PLAY and be bought more on the DS. Such a shame.
Again SEGA releasing games for the wrong handheld/console.
THROW away graphics, give me gameplay.
