Activision yesterday announced that the Xbox 360 version of
Guitar Hero II will be hitting retail on April 3. In addition to the 70 songs
Guitar Hero II had on the PS2, this version includes 10 360-exclusive tracks. Its graphics have also been redone in HD and gamers will be able to compare their scores online for the first time in the franchise.
“With all the new content and features we’re adding for our initial launch onto next-gen systems, Guitar Hero II on the Xbox 360 is definitely going to rock harder than ever,” said Dusty Welch, head of publishing at RedOctane. “Our online initiative is going to provide an incredible opportunity for our fans to extend the gameplay experience, and we have ambitious ideas to continue to fully support these efforts.”
So far, no downloadable guitars, song packs, venues, or other goodies have been announced, but we at GAF expect to see some in the future.
Those who pre-order
Guitar Hero II through
Red Octane's online store will get a free
Guitar Hero gig bag.

I complain that the 360 is getting so much more in their version and that's not fair to me who already bought it for PS2, but I suppose I should realize the game already has so much and I probably paid less than the game is going to cost for 360 owners.

it has life waisted by pearl jam. I would have rather seen given to fly or even flow though..

Woooo! A downloadable wireless guitar would be even sweeter.
I wish GH had some modern death- or black metal songs. I'd love trying to rip through something from Cannibal Corpse or Abgott on Hard mode in GH3 >=]

Glad to see that GHII is on the 360. Won't see myself purchasing it because I've already got it on the PS2. And 10 exclusive tracks is definitely not enough to fork over more money. But hey. There's always GH3, right?

Sounds great. I wish I never bought the old version when this one has so many new things going for it.
