News - Skin care software announced for the DS

Konami announced today Chizu Saeki's Dream Beauty Skin, a skin management and beautifying game for the DS.

Due to come this October 18th in Japan, aging Japanese women will now have something new to play between picking weeds and checking their brain age on the train. The game, which was stated as being directly marketed towards the older female market, will feature over an hour of guided "how-to" videos on subjects such as applying a lotion mask and using makeup.

Saeki explained in today's press conference that the DS Lite is extremely compact and, with this software, can easily become a part of anyone's beauty care set. Saeki also went on to mention that she has never herself touched a game machine before this one and Chizu Saeki's Dream Skin Care will appeal to technologically unsavvy people just like her.

I've just been reminded of the housewife-sim and the makeup game that insertcredit.com reported on a while ago.
All of this stuff is entirely awesome. I'm kind of hoping someone releases a Cooking Navi in the US.

My prediction: This SOFTWARE will probably hit around 50k the first week, and eventually work up to around 200k in sales. Then they'll port this to the Wii, and while using all of the same poor quality videos and menus, still feel justified in charging 3 times as much for it.
