News - Disgaea 3 Launch Event Report

Nippon Ichi held a release event today, January 31st, for their newest console game,
Disgaea 3, for the Playstation 3 in Tokyo's Akihabara.
About 20 customers initially lined up at the opening of the event at Akihabara's Messe Sanoh game store at around 1:00 in the afternoon. Customers who purchased the game there during the event were able to enter a drawing where they could win either a small
Disgaea 3 flag signed by one of the voice cast, a
Disgaea 3 wooden tea cup, or a promotional DVD. Prizes were limited and supplies had noticeably diminished after only a half-hour at the event.
Disgaea came out on a considerably hefty release day in Japan shared by such anticipated titles as
Super Smash Bros. Brawl (Wii),
Assassin's Creed (PS3), and
Devil May Cry 4 (PS3/360), so it will be interesting to see how well it actually does.
Smash Bros. Brawl was already sold-out by the time the event had started, and so too was the PS3 version of
Assassin's Creed. Two versions of the game went on sale, a standard and special edition. The special version includes a bonus soundtrack and hard-cover artbook.

Personally, I make a point of doling out no less than eight negative karmas to any user guilty of just being terpfen.
If the infraction is particularly egregious I enjoy a quick Wii Boxing bout or fifty against my makeshift terpen Mii.

Well i would have been at the Disgaea 3 event, cause they had Prinny gear! I would have gotten a copy of Super Smash Bros. Brawl too of course, either earlier in the day or the next day or the next week if supplies were really limited, but as far as swag goes Disgaea totally trounces Super Smash Bros.
