The Conduit was originally supposed to include support for the Wii MotionPlus, but
High Voltage Software has removed the feature from the title. "We
could have included support for Wii MotionPlus as
Nintendo provided us with early hardware and good developer support," explained VP and chief creative officer Eric Nosfinger. "However when we actually implemented it for
The Conduit, it didn't really add anything... [T]he device seems to lend itself more naturally for hand to hand combat... And that just doesn't feel like an optimal fit for how we designed our moment to moment gameplay."
The developers even added new weapons to take advantage of the Wii remote add-on, but with little time to integrate the weapons into the game the developers decided to drop them.
However,
High Voltage has come up with an alternative to fill the emptiness left by the Wii MotionPlus: online chat. "WiiSpeak [has been] a fantastic fit. And although it did take a colossal amount of effort from our audio engineers, it has really paid off for great online multiplayer."
We'll find out if Nosfinger's words are true when the game is released on April 15th.

Probably exactly the same hpyersonicexe.
MotionPlus doesn't have any affect on the pointer, but rather the actual motions you make with it (i.e: swinging a golf club, a baseball bat, bowling, sword fighting, etc).
Basically, this was a good move. Glad to hear they didn't force something onto the game that was either unnecessary, or gimmicky.
Looking forward to this one ;)

I'd like to know which is closer to a gun's aim; the MotionPlus, or just the Wii Remote alone?

Thank God. I hated the parts in Metroid Prime 3 where you had to use the Wii Remote for something as stupid as pulling a lever. And it was surprisingly difficult to do if I remember right.
WiiSpeak is a joke in my opinion, but I guess they might as well support it. Why not, I guess.

Unfortunately, they are only allowing Wii Speak to be used with people whose friend codes you have.

I'm glad they realized this before they released the game. It's always a good sign to see devs fixing problems before they reach the public.

Glad to hear they dropped the Wii Motion Plus. It's really not meant for first person shooters unless there's going to be significant close combat (like Red Steel which desperately needed it.) and I'm glad to see they won't be forcing the close combat. The accessory does nothing to help the pointer and therefore should not be in a shooter. It belongs with golf, baseball, tennis, and swordfighting.
