Ubisoft has several short films that take place in the Assassin's Creed universe that begin their release with the first film tomorrow. Called Assassin's Creed: Lineage, the short films come in three episodes and will be released on YouTube.
"Ubisoft is excited to share a new Assassin's Creed experience with the public," said Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillemot. "The Assassin's Creed Lineage film series is part of Ubisoft's ongoing efforts to reinforce its intellectual properties by bringing them to multiple entertainment mediums, providing gamers with a more immersive experience when they play as Ezio, the master assassin of Assassin's Creed II."
The short films will revolve around Ezio's father, Giovanni Auditore da Firenze, and his own life in in the Italian Renaissance period. Among the characters from the game who will be introduced is Lorenzo de' Medici, the real life ruler of the Florentine Republic from that period.
Hybride Technologies, who did work on the movie 300, was commissioned to do the computer generated imagery. The films take place during the Italian Renaissance period and star the father of the main character of Assassin's Creed 2. Giovanni Auditore is Ezio's father and also an assassin. The films include some of the characters of the game, including real life ruler of the Florentine Republic, Lorenzo de' Medici.
The trailer for Assassin's Creed: Lineage is below. The first film will be out on YouTube tomorrow and Assassin's Creed 2 will be available November 17.
