In my last blog, I said all 2008 and 2009 basic game data is complete in our database. Now I can say we've done the same for 2007. So any game released after 2006 that is listed in our database has a developer, publisher, release date, and genre.

This is part of continued efforts to improve our database and fill it out with complete and reliable information. I know you can find this information elsewhere, but I take pride in being a perfectionist. For many games (mainly older or obscure ones), I've searched across many sites to find the right information. This means that hopefully GAF is a resource that combines the knowledge of Wikipedia, Mobygames.com, Gamefaqs.com, Allgame.com, Klov.com, etc.

We do still have a long way to go though. I'm glad we've got the basics done for games after 2006 because we have now covered all games for the current generation. But we still are missing some games completely, especially on the downloadable front (WiiWare, XBLA, etc.). And for games already in the system, we have roughly 16000 that need basic info. We have 26000 in the database, so that means 38% of the games have basic info.
